The Iron Lady (2011)

After watching Leo brilliance in J.Edgar I was really in the mood for a biography movie. So my next stop is The Iron Lady and next in my list is My week with Marilyn (just finished watching it actually). For J. Edgar and The Iron Lady, Leo and Meryl had to endure hours of make up coz both movie the have to play the character in their old old old years. But Michele Williams in My week with Marilyn do not have to do that coz we all know : Marilyn Mati Muda.

First of all, this movie have Meryl Streep. She has received 17 Academy Award nominations, winning two, and 26 Golden Globe nominations, winning eight, more nominations than any other actor in the history of either award. So there is no better actress in the world to play Margaret Thatcher, the longest serving Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of the 20th century (Funny thing when I asked a lot of my colleague that is in their 20's do you know who is Margaret Thatcher? The answer was always "Pernah dengar nama, tapi tak tahu sangat".. Haha, so kat Malaysia memang payah la nak laku movie ni.)

 The Iron Lady" is a surprising and intimate portrait of Margaret Thatcher (Meryl Streep), the first and only female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. One of the 20th century's most famous and influential women, Thatcher came from nowhere to smash through barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male dominated world. Movie ni tunjuk macam mana dia dapat inspirasi dari bapanya untuk "do someting" walaupun hakikat mereka hanya peniaga kedai runcit. Margaret Thatcher juga di tunjukan bukan sebagai wanita sempurna, tetapi determination, latihan dan semangat membawa dia sebagai leader yang tegas hingga Russia menggelar beliau sebagai The Iron Lady(Russia tu..!!!)

Lakonan Meryl Streep tak payah nak cerita lebih la.. Dari zaman power sampai zaman Margaret Thatcher dan nyayuk, dia akan buat you all cheer up, menyampah dan sedih. Gila power la perempuan ni berlakon.. Gila power nak mampus.

Cerita ni memang slow, tapi kalau you all nak tengok lakonan power dan nak belajar apa yang patut ada untuk jadi leader yang tegas, then pergi tengok kat GSC (Sahaja yang tayang) yang terdekat. Walaupun slow, aku tak mengantuk tengok movie ni. Dan pada korang yang tak kenal Margaret Thatcher, sila tengok video bawah ni:
